Fundamentals of Hardgainer Workout Plans

For a person who is truly a hardgainer, it is very important to have an optimal weight training workout. Any flaws in the workout may make it impossible to make any additional muscle gains necessary for bulking up. The first thing is to make sure that the main weight training exercises that utilize many of the most important muscles are completed. They are the squat, deadlift, bench press, shoulder press, and the row. Other exercises are important, but they affect fewer muscles. In particular, the squat is the most important since it affects so many muscles in the body. Having these important exercises should be part of all hardgainer workout plans.

The next thing to consider is to make sure that the body is not so depleted that it cannot rebuild and gain muscle. This means it is important for everyone to get enough sleep every night. Another important thing is to make sure that workouts are not too long. Intensity is definitely fine, but excessive length of time at the gym is not. Think quality instead of quantity. If necessary, get rid of the part of the workout that may not help very much such as the cardio or the sauna room.
